Rebuilding Faith and Family
Eager to help Radiant Church leaders make the best of a bad situation, the Visioneering Studios team went to work turning their mid-80s era building into a beacon of faith and fellowship for the Cedar Rapids community.
01
The Opportunity
With extensive water damage across most of the building, Radiant Church leaders gave the Visioneering team the green light to go beyond a remodel, reconfiguring the space for better flow, feel and functionality throughout.
02
The Vision
One of our more touching and inspirational Basecamp journeys to date, Visioneering and church leaders refined the vision for the project, creating a plan to open up and modernize the interior, as well as create a stunning entry plaza to welcome and “wow” members and guests alike.
03
The Execution
The Visioneering Studios team cut away concrete walls to improve circulation and site lines. Underutilized rooms were turned into a large open lobby and café. The children’s ministry area was reconfigured to create secure points of entry for the pre-k and elementary age ministries, plus large group areas for the youth ministry. A dynamic front entry plaza welcomed the community with decorative landscaping, hardscape pavers, and overhead door openings leading into the new lobby space.
From the Client
“Since we started the project, we have experienced 36% growth, and it has been remarkable how every new family comes into the building now, and it feels like home to them.” – Brian Pingel, Pastor
